Lazy Sunday post

Right now, listening to this song....

Diamonds - Peppertones

....while staring at this picture....

Omymeee....i want to get married NOW. Hahaha.

Overheard Today

Girl: 'He said he wanted to smack me!'
Colleague: 'Ooh, in the kinky or disciplinary way??'
Guy: 'Um. Disciplinary.'

HURHURHURRR I have very cute colleagues.

A Few Pungent (and insignificant) Observations on Daily Commuting

So, I've been overworking myself to death this hols, and am currently engaged in a pleasantly no-brainer temp job. Squeeze with loads of pple into e train, and then try to squeeze out when alighting. In between, everyone basically look like they haven't slept for ten years / are contemplating suicide later. Seriously, why do you have to look so haggard and depressed every single day of the week?

In order not to depress myself, i turn to observing what pple wear, read etc instead.

1] There was one morning when this reaaally tired looking lady boarded e bus, and i was thinking tt she shld have done without e mascara...when i saw...!!!
She didn't pull up her skirt properly, and e top of her butt was showing. As in, you can see e butt crack and all. Omgg. I was gg to tell her..but she found a seat, so i didn't. Hopefully she noticed it later on! If not, imagine having walked e entire distance from MRT station to work, only to realise half your butt was on parade for all and sundry to see? EEEK NIGHTMARE.

2] OLs who can walk fast and far in tall tall four inch heels are truly formidable. Some of the heels these ladies wear are no joke - all pointy, though some claim pointy heels are easier to walk in....

3] Do guys usually match suit pants with boots? Today was e first time i saw a guy in this ensemble, maybe he was going for a casual chic kind of feel? ...though it really didn't show up too well.

Standing at the crossroads - Which way to turn?

At this age, aren't most of us standing at the crossroads? Those who have graduated, are either undecided between jobs or struggling to decide if they even like their job.

Those still studying face so many unknown fears, and unless you're one of those lucky ones who already know what they want, you're probably floundering around. The future stretches ahead infinitely, not as a straight road, but a scary mist-shrouded jungle. Panicked, but powerless, because you don't even know what you want.

GYAHH JUST SELL E TICKETS!

ARRrrghh, so pissed right now. Coz i, like, 99.9% wont be able to go to this concert:

Finally a Kpop concert in S'pore...and how are u supposed to get e tix? 2 options:

a) Buy a $528 LG Secret phone.
b) Take part in lucky draws held by e CoolKtimes radio station.

a>> OVER MY DEAD BODY. If DBSK was coming, i might consider.
b>> Given e 0.1% possibility that i'ld be lucky enough to score tix, i dont even consider this an alternative.

So. Bye bye, Junjin, Andy. Bye, Chae Yeon, Jewellery. Hope you guys come to Singapore again.
T_T

I feel lucky and blessed.....

Lady Luck is definitely smiling down on me. Last week, i left my entire wallet on the bus-including my IC, keys, schedule book, and 1 $10 NTUC voucher. -_-;; Yesss....everything important. Imagine my panic when i realised they were lost.

So, mad rush to the bus interchange to report loss (to a v.inefficient office personnel. Hello? Here i am, all panicky and anxious, and there u go, laughing with your colleagues over whatever insignificant thing?) Stood for at least an hour in a long queue just to get my ATM card replaced. Was planning to go to the ICA to replace my IC already, since i highly doubted my wallet would be recovered at the interchange.....when something totally miraculous happened.

Went home tired and depressed, slid my key into the door, walked past the dining table....and what did i see?

MY PRECIOUSSS WALLET lying there like it had never been lost before!!

To say i was surprised is an understatement. I really thought i was seeing things out of sheer desperation. Apparently, a kind old Malay uncle had returned e wallet to my doorstep after discovering it on the bus. Also, he lives in Clementi, which is a far distance from my house. Too bad i didn't get to thank him personally T_T

So i was like, "ahhh may this 'en ren' live a long,, happy life.......Thank you thank you!!" LOL~

My new Girl Crush <3

I had wanted to post my thoughts after watching 12 Lotus, but e Olympic artistic gymnastics diverted my attention. Specifically, someone diverted my attention.

Introducing Anna Bessonova! Her ribbon routine was b e a u t i f u l. Then again i didn't get to see her ball and hoop segments, so i cant judge whether she deserved more than e bronze medal she got.

One thing's for sure though- she excited e audience e most. Even during her performance, people were clapping and cheering loudly for her. For me, she stands out from all e rest because she possesses a rare talent and charisma to portray e mood of e music. Dancing alone may only need practise, but try doing that while working a ribbon and turning somersaults! People are alrdy discussing whether she's retiring after this year's Olympics, since she is turning 25...but i hope not!

Alright, see for yourself.

12 Lotus

Today 12 Lotus opens! Been wanting to catch this latest film from Roystan Tan ever since i saw e trailer on e omnipresent Tv Mobile. Hurhur~

Just heard e radio interview Roystan Tan amd Liu Ling Ling did with UFM1003, which made me want to watch it more <3 It's true what Ke Ning said- 881 aroused different feelings/thoughts about Singapore in me, whether it's about our culture (e existence of which used to be fiercely discussed), local films, and pple who are always in e society background. It's great that films such as this are adding to the local film industry...i think local music and films have really gotten more support from Singaporeans recently.

A trailor:

credits to movieXclusive.com

A few things im alrdy itching to find out:
1) the significance of the colour pink in e movie.

2) Stephanie Sun's role. No sign of her in e trailers - so mysterious siahh.

3) the significance of Guan Yin in e movie. In e interview, Roystan mentioned it was a show of love on e character's part.

Ok, calling for movie kakhis~ let's go watch together~

Anybody here? Hurhur.

For all i know, there may be nobody checking out my blog these days, due to the inexcusably loooong break in posting. Maybe, or especially....because of my last post.
Oh well, im back, i promise! Come back come backkkk dear friends~
Lol.

I shall try to lure you back with 5 cuties. I'm replaying this song alot lately. Melody's beautiful, and besides, just look at JaeJoong in the beginning <3

My thoughts on watching e MV:
1. Yoochun sshi...Plz, plz, cut your hair T_T

2. Somehow i don't think e context of this song applies to any of e DBSK guys. Who in their right mind would leave cute, talented guys like them for elderly looking men? Then again, im biased i suppose.

3. Really, e guy in e MV deserved it. Losing e girl, i mean. If you are gg to be so passive and not tell her how you feel, then of course she's not gg to wait for you. He didn't just give up - he never even tried! It's downright stupid to lose what could have been a lasting relationship just because both parties had no guts to admit their feelings for each other...isn't it?

'Consumerism is posh slavery.'

I really, really meant to write another blog post earlier, but laziness got in the way. :p

Anyway, as i was saying, this book im reading, talks about the 'mind-forged' nature of many things in today's societies. Just the points that struck me, lest this blog bores you to death.

Hodgkinson believes that everything has no instrinsic meaning, like good/bad, ugly/beautiful. Their so called values are imposed upon them by Man. So, lying is neither good nor bad.

These mental manacles that we create ourselves chain us to a meaningless system, thus we lose our freedom. We delegate responsibility for our own enjoyment and purpose in life to other people, to things. Which in fact never do what they promised. Have you ever felt that you never need another bag again after this 'perfect' one? Have you never grumbled at how cumbersome goverments are?

Since these external things are mind forg'd, and life is absurd anyway, we might as well take charge of our own lives. Creating things, however badly, is better than watching others do it well. Getting a life, instead of watching others live theirs.

For lack of a better word, Hodgkinson uses anarchy, but i believe this is an assertive way of being responsible for how you truly want to live your own life.

1st post aft surviving lack of Internet

Ok, I know im supposed to blog more often since e last post, but my freaking pc just died on me last week.
Definitely an experience i would never want to have again. So for e whole of this week, i was moping around e house, and cursing e pc...and also myself, for over relying on e internet.

As mysterious circumstances would have it, i also happen to be reading this v.interesting book 'How to be Free'. One point e author makes is tt we rely too much on others to entertain ourselves - reading what others write, listening to music others make, watching media produced by others. That pretty much sums up what i do with my 'free' time. How tragic. Along this thread, he argues that we give up part of our power to these people, fragmenting our lives over which we are powerless. I'll dedicate more time to this topic in my next blog post...there are too many things to say!

So anyway, my life actually got more varied with e absence of Internet. Went out with real friends, instead of exhanging politely friendly virtual messages with people i don't know tt well. Did some cleaning up, got a job, read more books and magazines, instead of looking at how much more 'happening' other people's lives are. I actually enjoyed myself. Of course, i missed watching Legend, my daily dose of blogs and music...but I more than survived e ordeal.

Replay replay replayyy~~

Replay is currently on my replay.
Ok, sorry. Couldn't resist a shameless corny pun. xD
This song's from a new Korean boyband Shinee, and i can be a noona to all of e members. Aigoo! T_T
Tea's gotten me abit high today. Hurhurhur.
I've made a resolution to blog more often, so hopefully this is e 1st of many more boliao posts to come.

On footless tights and shopping ban........

No. This is not drawn by me. During my endless blog hopping, i somehow found this girl who draws all e stuff she purchases in a year. This is just one of many many cute pics she drew. I <3 her fonts! And would you believe it, she even draws her credit card statements (!!!!)
[Edit] Arrrgh. Stupid Blogger wouldn't allow me to link her. Will try again ltr.

Now, on to the subject of footless tights. I can't decide whether i like or hate them. Some anti-footless tights people say they're nothing more than glammed-up leggings. I see their point, but tights really are an interesting addition to an outfit sometimes. However. I don't like how they end abruptly at e ankles...you know, there isn't a smooth line extending all e way to the feet? So it's like there's a break in e line, and and the look isn't as chic or put together as i like it to be. This is why i still don't own a pair of tights yet. Well maybe it's better that i don't, since almost everybody is now clad in tights. Hehhehheh..

YAAAAAYY. Haven't bought anything for a week now (except food).
: DD
I'll probably have to break the ban temporarily for Mothers' Day...but that's counted as an exception right? Haha....

Shopping ban now ON T_T

Am now officially on a shopping ban. No more senseless buying! Bye byee nice-pair-of-Mango-wedges, and zipia~~
T_T
See, im so determined i even broadcast it on my blog, so those pple who actually read my blog and happen to shop with me....drag me away when i want to buy anything. Or maybe confiscate my cursed Nets card? TT_TT

Ever go into a shop thinking 'ok, i won't buy anything, just browse..' and end up walking out of e shop alrdy regretting your purchase? You try convincing yourself,' but it's such a good bargain/lobang...!'
Or do you go mad thinking abt a particular bag/pair of shoes/whatever all day, even days, until you just can't help running out to get it?
Ok, join the shopping ban support group! Some amazingly disciplined pple have actually survived through their bans, and it really helps to read tt they did it. If they can do it, so can I! Even if u're not on a shopping ban, some of e posts on this thread are quite entertaining to read. lol.

A week of new knowledge

Rounding up an uneventful week, i learnt 3 things.....

1) Salvation Army thrift store is a huge treasure trove.
Tis' true! Point - i bought e entire boxed set of Narnia books for $7 and 2 vintage 60s' hardcovers for $1 each. All of which deserve a bettr fate - that of sitting on my tiny bookshelf. Ahahaa~ If u're thinking, 'Jeez, only bo liao pple and bargain-hunting aunties go there', well...you're half-right...lol.
However, I saw quite a few trendy young pple during e whole time i was there. (Read: guys in skinny jeans, and arty looking girls in tights)

The book section is delightfully huge, distributed across several pokey little rooms, which remind me of my primitive primary school library. Clothes section was not as exciting, though :[ Some of e clothes ought to have been recycled into rags or sth 5 years ago.

2) Which finger u choose to wear ur ring on shows ur personality.
Something interesting learnt from a new friend. Apparently based on Greek mythology, but pls dont ask me abt e details -_-;;

Thumb - Independent
Index finger - Dominant
Middle finger - Fun-loving
2nd last (?) finger - Romantic, loyal
Last finger - Conflicted

True? I find it pretty accurate, at least in my case...

3) I look great when i have my eyes closed in pictures.
hahaha.

Balalalaa~lalaaala

Sitting here, singing this song
Do you know do you know
Where, when, how
shall we meet?
Balalala~lalaaala
Under a blazing sun
On a rainy street
We'll throw away our umbrellas and jump some puddles?
Is there what they say there will be-
a feeling of deja vu-
we knew each other before we met
of loving, not liking?
Balalala~lalaaala

Yessss. Im back. A song from Krock band Nell inspired me to write something random. Btw, you should check out their songs-they're awesome.
